IS IT JUST ME - Staples
Is it just me or does everyone over the age of 60 think about these things?
Yesterday, I bought a 3 pack of staples. Each box contains 5000 staples, making a total of 15,000 staples. If I use staples for the next 20 years, I will need to use 750 each year to exhaust my supply – approximately 2 staples a day.
2 staples a day sounds manageable, but I don’t think I have 2 things everyday that need to be stapled. As I write this, I do have 25 things I need to staple, but after that I’m at a loss. Wasting 2 staples a day doesn’t seem like a fair way to use up 15,000 staples.
I could leave them to someone, but whom? I will have 2 full boxes and one with some missing. I happen to have 3 kids (and their families…they have lots of years to use up 5,000 staples), but! How do I decide who gets a full box and who gets a partially used box? It probably won’t matter to them, but you know us moms…we want to be fair.
I could go out and buy 3 more boxes so each one would get a full box, but that leaves me with my original problem. If I were better at math, I could figure out how many more boxes I would have to get so they all got the same number of staples, using the 2 left over boxes I already have. Let’s see…I have 2 boxes already and if I add by 3’s… (3 more and divide by 3…nope…I’m up to adding 30 boxes plus the two, I have, divide by 3 and it still doesn’t work out!)
I see this solution (if I ever get to a number that will work) will only become a problem for them. How will they get rid of them? I don’t want that on my conscience!
I wish I could have found a smaller box of staples.
